Powerhouse Struggles Against O-Town Patriots

Powerhouse traveled to Winter Garden on Sunday, January 23, for a double header against the perennial powers O-Town Patriots.  Powerhouse started sluggish, used three pitchers and had several errors in Game 1, losing 14-2 in six innings. 

Determined to improve on their performance, Powerhouse came out looking like a different team in Game 2.  The battery of Adams and Bradley worked well with Adams throwing 6 innings of the 7 inning game.  Carson Roe came in to pitch the last inning.  Overall, a much better defensive performance from the Powerhouse.  There were a couple of bright offensive spots with timely hitting from Ty, Adams and Bradley, however Powerhouse hitters were struck out 9 times in the second game, resulting in a tie game at 2-2 after 7 innings.

Powerhouse will be practicing this week in preparation for their tournament in Oldsmar next weekend.

Powerhouse Fundraiser A Success!

Thanks to all who came out and supported Powerhouse in the Texas Hold'Em Event on Saturday night at the Kissimmee Elks Lodge!  It was a great event and we were able to successfully reach our goal.

Special congratulations go to the final table participants.  The winner was Eric Lake and runner up was Bev Barber.  The Barber family made an impressive showing with both Bev and Mike at the final table.

We also had many great raffles and a 50/50 drawing.  Thanks to all who supported us in this event.

Powerhouse Wins 2 in Spring Opener

Powerhouse opened their spring season with a doubleheader against the Oveido Bombers on Sunday, January 9, 2011.  Powerhouse looked strong behind the pitching of Pedro, Adams, Bradley, Carson and Alec.  The Bombers gained an early lead on some impressive hitting but the Powerhouse teams definitely swings bigger sticks!  A special congratulations to J Waters as he had two good games defensively and offensively.



While the mom's shivered in the stands in the breezy weather (smart Mom Mandy and newest Powerhouse member Landon were cozy in their vehicle), the dad's managed to watch the football game and the Powerhouse game at the same time - have TV will travel!
